Boris Pelcer has a background in illustration and an amazing ability to create stunning portraits with a simple mechanical pencil on Bristol paper. These small scale black and white drawings are only 7 x 11 inches. The portraits look very realistic, are full of subtle details, the expressive faces show volume and texture, all of which are very difficult technical achievements. The faces in these drawings are surrounded by smoke or other natural elements and make up his mysterious series entitled Something Somewhere.
